Mewa entrusts the construction of an industrial laundry to GSE

Project presentation

MEWA entrusted GSE with the design and build of their industrial laundry situated at Avernes, to the south of Moulins (in the Allier).

MEWA, which was originally a German company, offers a rental contract for the supply, maintenance and replacement of various types of industrial textile equipment.

This property of a total surface area of 8 700 m˛ includes:

  • A delivery and preparation area
  • A cleaning area
  • A storage area
  • Offices and social area

The design of this factory is based upon the results of MEWA’s experience and working practices.  This highly original and complex project requires a very particular expertise in the treatment of vapours.  Furthermore, MEWA have quite specific demands in terms of fire safety, above and beyond the standard regulatory requirements.  Finally the design and construction of this building has taken into consideration environmentally-friendly issues; of particular note is the recycling of oils contained in the materials (for example in dish cloths).  These recycled oils will be used as fuel for energy production providing 80% of the factory’s requirements.

MEWA selected GSE for our ability to manage complex industrial projects including process equipment installation, and for the strength of our project teams and our organisation.  We at GSE have proven ourselves to be highly flexible in terms of the continual evolution of this project, in particular regarding the process side which remains partially undefined to this day.
